Prevailing Singles

We've received a lot of prayer request from those that are single and we wanted to write blogs that will make you laugh, think, get hope, and help you until God sends the one He has for you.

Strong Singles

The life of a single is challenging, but it can be filled with excitement, joy, and sometimes it comes with a few bumps in the road.

For single men and women, it can be exciting because you are free to make choices. And that's where it is good to have the Lord in your life to help you make the right choices in life.

The Bible and prayer helps us to keep sharp and focused with the choices that we make.

Look at what Paul said in 1 Corinthians 7:32-35 "But I want you to be without care. He who is unmarried cares for the things of the Lord — how he may please the Lord. But he who is married cares about the things of the world — how he may please his wife.

There is a difference between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman cares about the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit. But she who is married cares about the things of the world — how she may please her husband.

And this I say for your own profit, not that I may put a leash on you, but for what is proper, and that you may serve the Lord without distraction."

I gave the full import of the word Paul shared, but notice that he said that the unmarried cares for the things of the Lord - how he or she may please the Lord.

The most important thing about being a single person in the Lord is caring for the things of the Lord that you may please the Lord. It's not just about staying free from sin that pleases the Lord but doing things for the Lord that makes Him smile at you.

The Lord sees that you are content, at peace, resting in Him. You deepen your relationship with the Lord. You spend time with the Lord. Yes, we are to pray and read His Word. That's part of the communion and fellowship we have with God. Have you coinsidered the fact that when you are walking to the store that the Lord is walking with you?

There are times when the communion and fellowship with God is formed in the attitude of prayer or worship, but just like two people walking down the street together, the Lord is with you in the same manner.

When you are in the house reading a book, the Lord is sharing those moments with you too. When you are taking out the trash or cleaning the house, or doing house chores. The Lord is there with you.

When you ask a question but it seems like you are asking it to yourself. Unbeknownst to you, the Lord gives you the answer. It seemed like it came from you but the Lord planted the answer in your mind. There are many ways that the Lord does fellowship with us that we sometimes take for granted.

As a single person, these are precious moments of the Spirit of God bearing witness with your spirit that you are a child of God. When you need consoling or comforting. When we get angry and you want someone to listen to you vent out your anger and frustrations. And guess Who is listening?

The Lord.

This is called the faith walk.

2 Corinthians 5:7 says, "For we walk by faith, not by sight."

As a single person, not having a physical person there makes it difficult but the best assurance that I can give you is that the Lord is there.

Hebrews 13:5 says "Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you."

To be a strong single requires trusting in the Lord that He will be there when you need Him.

To be a strong single, you have to rely on the Word of God.

To be a strong single is demanding but God is right there to give you the strength you need to get through moments of loneliness, discouragement, and pressing moments.

As Paul gave us what the Lord said to him in 2 Corinthians 12:9 "And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness."

Being a strong single can be filled with the joy of the Lord. For as the book of Nehemiah said, "The joy of the Lord is my strength."

Sometimes watching a good clean movie could bring out the joy of the Lord. Enjoying the fellowship of clean believers is another way in which the joy of the Lord could be shared.

The lie of the devil is to convince you that you can't have fun.

Yes you can have fun in the Lord, and you convince yourself that you will have fun and make the devil mad.

You can be a strong single in the Lord.

Never let the devil or his listeners tell you otherwise.
